Emerald Bay Catalina Island – Island Adventure DTS

October 10, 2011

doing your DTS in a place so pristine you can see 120 feet underwater?  Welcome to Catalina Island and to Emerald Bay. Only one hour 30 minutes boat ride from the mainland you are delivered right to the campus’ personal dock and immersed into paradise!  Really!  The island is approx 26 miles long.  You can drive to Avalon the only city on the island where on the way you are bound to see buffalo grazing freely, come across other wild life such as cute little bushy tail foxes.

Here are a few pics to help imagine what it must be like.  It is rustic, quiet, and beautiful.  Come join us January 5th.

The right hand side of the bay

Left hand side of Emerald Bay with Kiacks set out ready for use

Tons of equipment ready to host groups on the water

Leaving LA harbor on the ferry chartered just for our groups

Marine life abounds

Fancy a relaxing quiet time in a hamock?

Dining Hall large enough to seat a few hundred students.  A great kitchen too.
