Meet Paise, a Bible Translator from Mur Pano, Papua New Guinea (PNG). His village has no electricity, running water, and especially no coffee shops. This past week has been full of “firsts” for him:

His first latte—and first time hearing words like Americano, Macchiato, and London Fog.

His first time in a café—right here in our own Liberty Café on the YWAM Liberty- docked in Madang, PNG.

He even made his fellow translators laugh when he tried to sip his latte through the wooden stir stick, thinking it was a straw!

His first time on a ship… first time living on a ship… first time using a toaster, eating a hamburger, having clean drinking water, using indoor plumbing … and hundreds of other little firsts.

But the most meaningful first?

This is the first time the Bible is being translated into his language- Mur Pano. Together with 64 other translators (8 Language Groups), Paise has just completed the first of six weeks of Oral Bible Translation (OBT) of the Book of Luke.

Would you pray for Paise and all the translators in the OBT Cluster living and doing life for 6 weeks on the YWAM Liberty—that God’s Word would come alive in every heart and in the 8 languages of Mur Pano, Wab, Gavak, Yoidik, Amako, Manam, Bel, and Brem?
