Soccer is not only fun, but it creates a community. What started out as friends simply playing together on the field, has evolved into something much more. Over the Fourth of July weekend, we enjoyed our annual Kona Soccer Tournament. People from all over Hawaii(The big Island, Kauai, and Maui) came to join in the fun and ultimately give back to the community. As goals are being made in the game, there are also bigger goals being set. At the end of each tournament, the funds go towards scholarships for highschoolers that want to pursue soccer in college. It’s a way for them to turn their dreams into a reality! From each tournament, 3 scholarships will be given to students. The tournament is held every Fourth of July weekend and we hope to see even more people there next year! The community that we form is so important and it’s a great way to have fun and also encourage and uplift those around us.
